MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • • BS in Accounting and two (2) years related experience.
  • • OR six (6) years of direct experience with GL, AP and AR, preferably in a not for profit setting.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • • BS in Accounting and two (2) years related experience.
  • • OR six (6) years of direct experience with GL, AP and AR, preferably in a not for profit setting.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
  • • Demonstrated working knowledge of relational spreadsheets.
  • • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • • Demonstrated organizational skills, problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • • Supervisory experience desirable.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII licensing regulations.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • • Maintains cash reconciliations and prepares bank deposits
  • • Prepare weekly updated cash flow projection
  • • Prepare and post monthly accounting entries for accounts receivable
  • • Follow up on past due accounts
  • • Apply payments to accounts, process credit transactions as needed.
  • • Sets up and maintains journals, ledgers and supporting financial records. Prepares journal entries.
  • • Understand complex reimbursement contracts and implementation of contracts
  • • Expected to work as partner to all other finance employees and create a teamwork approach to problem solving.
  • • Always looking for ways to simplify and reduce manual work. Encouraged to look at and investigate solutions that assist in simplification and automation.
  • • Prepares invoices and other billing documents for collection.
  • • Ensure contract billing is timely, appropriate and balanced to GL as well as budget
  • • Establishes and maintains General Ledger accounts.
  • • Ability to work and communicate effectively with program and management staff
  • • Sets up and maintains billing matrix in Electronic Healthcare Records. Monitors EHR events and coordinates with QA, IT, and Client Services to resolve billing issues.
  • • Assists management to ensure adequate written procedures and systems for the accounting and control of the expenditure of funds.
  • • Prepares records for various audits and assists auditors.
  • • Cross trained in essential Finance functions.
  • • Assist CFO in implementing efficiencies such as ACH and paperless.
  • • Update desk top procedures for this position.
  • • Assist management and other employees in reducing the accounting close cycle.
  • • Track special funds activity for Education account, Client Services, Capital funds.
  • • Update and maintain the agency EHR billing system, works together with IT and QI to any program and codes that need to be updated.
  • • Sales & use tax quarterly reporting.
  • • Process Cash applications for the agency
  • • Flex funds data entry and reconciliation.
  • • Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
  • • Every employee has the opportunity and responsibility to participate in one or more activities each year that support PQI at RCS. Activities may involve membership in focus groups or other activities as identified by PQI committees or work groups.
